Pulling great espresso at home can be tricky. There are so many variables and techniques to consider. But, when you find that perfect balance of dose, grind, tamp, time, pressure, atmospheric conditions, and divine intervention, well... the results can be truly heavenly. 

With a Transcend espresso subscription you'll be treated to four, 12 oz bags of perfectly rested espresso each month. What's 'rested' espresso you ask? Espresso usually brews best when it's between 7-11 days off roast. This might sound odd as we typically advocate using very fresh coffee beans when preparing brewed coffee. Essentially it has to do with the process of de-gassing and how it affects espresso. If the espresso beans are too fresh when ground and brewed, it will produce bubbly and less tasty espresso.

So, to help you make the tastiest espresso possible, we'll send you two shipments a month, with two bags of espresso in each shipment, one bag will be 'rested' five to seven days, the other will be as fresh as possible. When your coffee arrives, you can open the rested bag, and save the fresher bag for the following week. You should find greater consistency in how your espresso brews when using properly rested espresso beans. 

Subscription espresso will usually consist of our Transcend Espresso blend, but we may from time to time surprise you with a single-origin coffee, roasted for espresso, that we are confident will make a delicious espresso. 

If you're buying this subscription as a gift, please indicate in the notes field in the checkout if you would like the subscription to start in a particular month (we ship espresso subscriptions the first and third week of the month). We're also happy to include a card in the first shipment with a custom note, or email you a certificate you can print out to give to your loved one. Just let us know the details and we'll do our best to accommodate.
