Transcend Jasper now open

Written by James Schutz |  March 8, 2011

It was a whirlwind getting ready to open the doors, but here we are, it's Tuesday, things are up and running, the coffee is flowing and we are excited to be downtown.

Here are our hours of operation, for those who have asked:

Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 6:00 pm

We will be open Saturdays, for sure once the downtown market is open (May 21) or possibly even earlier, depending on demand.

Some of the feautres at Transcend Jasper:

  • Same delicisous drink menu as our other cafés including espresso, americano, cappucino, flat white, latte, mocha, chia latte and others.
  • New beverage options include a long black (skimmed americano) & batch brew coffee on the Fetco (for those who just want a quick coffee to go).
  • Soup made fresh in-house every day with local ingredients.
  • There is a boardroom upstairs that is available for rent at $20 per hour. Call 780-421-7734 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to book.
  • Fancy fireplace upstairs that burns clean burning ecohol (denatured alcohol) that doesn't need to be vented
  • Artwork on the walls for various artists on a rotating basis. We're happy to have Amanda Woodward's work up for our opening.

There are a few other exciting things in the works. Watch for these in the coming weeks:

  • Waffles - the very popular waffles (dough made for us by Eva Sweet Waffles) from our Garneau café will be served just as soon as our waffle irons arrive.
  • South American street food menu – including empenadas, aprepas, pao de queijo and other tasty savoury items will be available once we convert our former roasting facility into a food prep area.
  • Wine and beer - a small, uncommon selection of old and new wolrd wines and some truly exceptional craft beers are on the way.

We had a little pre-opening shindig last night. Mack Male wrote about it over at Only Here for the Food. A few pics for the evening are below.

Transcend Coffee was amazing to visit! Your staff was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and down to earth. Definitely a great place to read a book or meet with friends. Love it!

Hello N, no we don't put chocolate on our capps. We just celebrate the chocolate flavours naturally occurring in our espresso which is nicely sweetened by the milk.

Can't wait to give the new cafe a try. I'm very pleased and excited with the Progress Transcend has made since my fisrt visit a couple yrs ago to T1. It was so cool just to goto a place and see an actual coffee roaster, latte art and barrista's who were serious about coffee. Can't wait to try the new locally sourced food menu!
