If you haven't heard of Hario, you've likely seen the nearly ubiquitous V60 dripper somewhere, as these little pour-overs have taken the specialty coffee scene by storm. This is one trend that we at Transcend can fully support. The V60 is a simple, manual pour-over that requires a little more attenion than an automatic drip, but the control that's possible and the features of the brewer (like the spiral ridges, slope of the cone and the filters) make for some stellar results in the cup. Luckily, there are a ton of videos and brew guides out on the net about how to use the V60, including one excellent video by our very own Josh Hockin, which I highly suggest.
Here's the gear in our new little Hario line up:
The V60 dripper
In one or two cup sizes. Available in clear glass or white ceramic.
The mini mill hand grinder
An awesome hand-powered grinder with ceramic conical burrs. Fresh grinding anywhere! Can you say ultimate camping coffee?
The buono pouring kettle
For the most insanley presision pouring possible. This thing is surgical.
The woodneck dripper
Hip and stylish with reusable cloth filters. Available in 240mL and 480mL sizes.
Personally, I think the V60, mini mill and buono kettle is the ultimate make-your-co-workers-jealous office coffee set-up or swank bachelor/bachelorette pad accesories.
We're happy to be carrying these products from this long-standing Japanse company—they've been making quality glass since 1921! Hario gear is available online and at our original roastery & coffeebar location, soon to be avilailable at Transcend Garneau.
