I enjoy trying new shop's signature espresso blends because I feel like it gives each shop a very distinct flavor. When I pull shots at home I am open to trying almost anything. Currently I've been using the 2011 National Barista Challenge blend and some la joya that I roasted myself.

I also like using the non-espresso oriented roasts, like Genesis, for kicks at home.

I brew in a cafe and at home, and I prefer single origin through my tight cafe setup (robur, aurelia comp), and a blend in my less consistent home setup (vario, europiccola).

I think your survey is too black & white to really get meaningful results - while I generally prefer a quality espresso blend at home since dialing in a single origin coffee can be tricky sometimes, I still like trying them. In a quality cafe, I would lean towards the single origin for something new - trusting that the barista(s) have it dialed in already. I doubt that I'm alone...

Why are you forcing people who will fall on a wide spectrum of opinions into only one of 2 categories?
The espresso I like to drink depends on neither single origin nor blends. I prefer both, at different times, for different reasons.
The single one-trick-pony does its trick well, but it can get boring quickly.
Blends (those carefully crafted aiming for profile, not cost control) are a symphony but some nights I just want a punk show.
Go watch the TED presentation by Malcolm Gladwell about spaghetti sauce.

Find that it is tricky dialing in a SO espresso at home - which is why I generally prefer a blend at home (although I still like trying SO beans).

Really not sure that I could answer this fairly as I don't make espresso at home and only buy what is being served to me at my favourite places. I prefer great tasting espresso. I wouldn't have a clue how to pull a shot myself, so if I was starting at home I would use a blend because they are usually less expensive
